Theories of reflective practice
Webb26 dec. 2024 · Reflective practice is said to be a process to learn from and through experiences en route to acquisition of new understandings and perceptions for practice (Finlay, 2008). Reflection is a fundamental part of learning and teaching. It generally aims to enhance your professional knowledge and actions. Webb‘Reflective Practice’ itself derives from the work of Dewey and Schön. Dewey (1938) argued that reflective practice promotes a consideration for why things are as they are and how we might direct our actions and behaviour through careful planning, underpinned by experience and theory in order to be as impactful as possible.
