WebbThe process consists of grinding the forks to remove pitting and any run out so they are perfectly parallel. They are then built up with hard chromed over and above there original size. These oversize forks are then ground again to bring them back to their original diameter. These refurbished forks on average have more hard chrome than any new set. Webb3 sep. 2010 · Price doesn't include new fork standsions or stansion rechroming, which is whats needed if the forks are pitted. OP: What bikes are you looking at? Depends on the bike how easy / expensive reconditioning the forks might be. Rechroming the fork stansions, ball-park is about £150 +/- £20 depending on who you go to, what fork it is.
